We would like to introduce you to Joe and Anisa Neal. RCPT sat down with them recently for an interview and would love for you all to get to know them.

RCTP: Tell us a little about yourselves. Where are you from? How did you meet each other? What brought you to Oklahoma?

AN: My name is Anisa Neal, I grew up in southern California and lived there most of my life until moving to New Jersey where I got into the flea market business. I met Joe ( a New Jersey native) at the flea market. It’s been history ever since. We moved to Oklahoma 12 years ago to be closer to Joe’s family. We carried that drive to sell with us and started selling here at River City 2 years ago and have loved it.

RCTP: How did you get started in reselling?

AN: I got started in New Jersey selling costume jewelry, and opened up an Ebay store. Joe and I got really involved in the flea market business and we sold used items, basically anything we could to make money.

RCTP: Do you have a favorite item that you guys sell?

AN: I love beanie babies. I love selling them, and I also collect them. Costume jewelry is also one of my favorites because that’s what got me into reselling.

JN: I like to sell toys.

RCTP: Do you see yourselves bringing in anything new that you don’t normally sell, but would love to add to your booth?

JN: We sell anything we come across that we think is cool, and can make money.

AN: There is always something new in the booth. We hustle and get out there and find things everyday to offer to our buyers. Our goal is to provide something for everyone targeting all ages! We try to sell as cheap as we can for our customers, because we want everyone to be able to afford cool stuff.

RCTP: Where do you get your inspiration from?

JN: Money! Haha

AN: We do it of course to provide for the family, but we love what we do. The hunt is so fun for us. Finding the stuff, and pricing it is the whole thrill of it! Joe and I are together 7 days a week. Spending time with each other doing what we love is awesome.

RCTP: What is the best piece of advice you have to someone who is new to reselling?

AN: You have to be mindful of the price you are selling items for. There aren’t a lot of people who want to, or can pay hundreds, or thousands for an item. Make sure you provide something for everyone. Always strive to have a variety.

RCTP: What is one of your favorite memories?

AN: When we were called and were informed that we were chosen for Vendor of the month. That is my recent best memory. We work so hard and to be recognized has meant the world to us!

RCTP: What is the best piece of advice you guys have ever been given?

AN: To hustle, and work hard.

RCTP: What qualities do you value in people that you spend your time with?

AN: Respect. It’s important to surround yourself with people who have common decency, and show respect.

RCTP: If you were stranded on an island and could only bring one person, and three items who would that person be, and what three items are you bringing?

AN: I would bring Joe, and my three items would be my cats hahaha they are my children.

JN: I would bring Anisa of course, and my three cats!

What do they sell?
